Committee for judicial nominations publishes list of Supreme Court candidates and opens challenge period

The Committee for Judicial Nominations of the National Assembly, in strict compliance with Article 264 of the Constitution, published this Friday the general list of those citizens applying to serve as Magistrates of the Supreme Court of Justice, Inspector General of Courts, and Director of the National School of the Judiciary of the Venezuelan justice system.

According to the legal framework, the publication of this list, which includes 561 candidates for Magistrates, 63 for Inspectorate, and 33 for the School, marks the beginning of the period for receiving challenges. This period will run from June 19 to July 3, 2026, both dates inclusive.

All institutional or citizen objections regarding the candidates must be formally submitted in writing and duly accompanied by verifiable evidence to the Committee.

The National Assembly firmly advances in the process of evaluating and appointing the authorities who will govern the Judiciary Branch.
