The United States has affirmed that it supports the agreements reached following the third round of dialogue between the National Government and a group of former deputies from the assembly elected in 2015, with advances in institutional, legislative, and political participation matters.
In a press release, the State Department highlighted agreements to review various legal instruments—including the Law Against Hatred, within the framework of the legislative topics addressed by both delegations.
The document also referenced the process of renewal of the Supreme Tribunal of Justice (TSJ), which includes the selection of 32 magistrates, as well as agreements regarding access to more than 70 websites.
Likewise, the text highlighted efforts toward the recovery of Venezuelan gold reserves held at the Bank of England, so that these can be used to assist the population affected by the two earthquakes on June 24 and to contribute to the restoration of public services.
The dialogue board is led by the head of the Government delegation and President of the National Assembly (AN), Jorge Rodríguez, and representing the 2015 parliament by the former deputy Dinorah Figuera.
