Marking the 18th anniversary of the Youth of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (JPSUV), the President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Delcy Rodríguez, acknowledged the trajectory of a generation originally called upon by Commander Hugo Chávez to assume an active role in the country’s political and social construction.
18 years after its founding, the organization reaffirmed that Venezuelan youth keeps holding concrete responsibilities in the present, driving the work within study centers, communes, and territorial spaces along with the people.
During this anniversary celebration, a special recognition was given to the 3,000 members of the Solidarity Brigades, who traverse neighborhoods and communities promoting just peace and dignity. It was also paid a homage to the courage and organizational capacity of the volunteers who support communities during emergencies, thereby consolidating a policy closely attuned to the population’s daily needs.
Furthermore, emphasis was placed on the importance of keeping alive the historical legacies of national heroes such as Simón Bolívar, Antonio José de Sucre, José Félix Ribas, and Ezequiel Zamora, embracing their heritage through discipline, study, and critical thinking.
In tune with Simón Rodríguez’s thinking of «invent or err,» a call was made on the youth to gain expertise in fields such as economics, science, and geopolitics, shifting from being passive consumers of technology to becoming creators of solutions for their own territories.
