President Delcy Rodríguez conducted meeting with High-Level delegation from the U.S.

Within the framework of the foreign policy agenda for the strengthening of bilateral relations, under the principles of the Diplomacy of Peace, the President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Delcy Rodríguez, held a strategic meeting with high-level officials from the U.S. Department of the Treasury and the U.S. Department of State.

The meeting between representatives of the Venezuelan State and the U.S. delegation had as its purpose the review of a shared economic development agenda to strengthen existing and tangible agreements in various strategic areas, including trade, finance, and energy.

Among other relevant topics was the pursuit of the stability on the energy market and the reactivation of financial mechanisms that benefit national socioeconomic development, since the venezuelan President’s administration has focused on advancing relations to benefit the nation’s macroeconomic stability.

It is worth noting that this space for direct communication highlights the importance of keeping diplomatic channels open in order to address issues of hemispheric interest and regional stability.

The U.S. delegation was headed by Jonathan Greenstein, Assistant Secretary for International Financial Affairs at the Department of the Treasury, and Jonathan Burke, Assistant Secretary of the Treasury for Terrorist Financing.

The Head of State was accompanied by Calixto Ortega, Vice President for Economic Affairs and Finance; Félix Plasencia, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Trade; Luis Pérez, President of the Central Bank of Venezuela; Oliver Blanco, Vice Minister for Europe and North America; Anabel Pereira, Vice President for Administration and Digital Government, among other officials.
