President Delcy Rodríguez sent a message of solidarity from the Venezuelan people and Government to Colombia following the 7.4 magnitude earthquake registered this Monday, offering humanitarian aid and rescue workers to assist in the emergency:
«From here, we express our solidarity with the people of Colombia, with their authorities, and with the government of President De la Espriella. The condolences of the Venezuelan people and our deepest solidarity are with you; you are not alone. I have witnessed the solidarity of Latin America, the Caribbean, and the world, who have expressed their support for our sister Colombia,» manifested the dignitary from the Fernando Toro Bolivarian High School in the Maiquetía parish, La Guaira state.
The Head of State reported that she had given instructions to coordinate the dispatch of assistance and to make the Simón Bolívar Brigade available to collaborate in the rescue efforts.
“Already at the first hour I gave instructions to organize humanitarian aid to send to Colombia and the rescuers, the Simón Bolívar Brigade from Venezuela, which has also gone to support during natural disasters in other countries. We have made available to the Colombian Government our brigade men for the rescue of people trapped under the rubble,” she declared.
Likewise, Rodríguez noted that regional leaders from the Andean states are coordinating with the National Executive awaiting authorization from the Colombian government to deploy rescue personnel.
