The secretary general of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), Diosdado Cabello Rondón, ratified this Monday that, despite the difficulties and circumstances beyond the will of the Venezuelan people, the country will continue its firm path towards development and the defense of its sovereignty.
During a press conference held at the party’s national headquarters, Cabello highlighted that, together with the members of the political leadership, were reviewed the tasks to be carried out in the current context. “We continue reviewing all the tasks we have given the situation our country is facing, forced by circumstances beyond our will and the will of our Constitutional President, Nicolás Maduro Moros. Venezuela will not stop, Venezuela continues advancing,” he affirmed.
The political leader recalled that this Monday marks 17 days since the vile kidnapping of President Nicolás Maduro and First Lady Cilia Flores, who were subjected to a situation of prisoners of war amidst an attack against the country.
He reiterated that both were taken in a condition of kidnapping, a fact that has been repeatedly denounced by the Government and the Venezuelan people.
Given this situation, he emphasized that the people has remained mobilized throughout the national territory, demanding the release of the Head of State and his wife: “We have had activities every day, street activities, together with our people, social movements, political organizations, and institutions; everywhere the people is mobilized, demanding the return of our brother Nicolás and Cilia,” he pointed out.
As part of this mobilization agenda, Cabello informed that during the weekend was held an extraordinary event in which men, women, children, and youth from all over the country wrote letters of support to the President and the First Combatant Woman.
Regarding the activities of the PSUV, the secretary general specified that this week will continue with an intense agenda, which includes the events commemorating January 23 (1958), a date he described as “a beautiful feat of the people united in defense of their country.”
Cabello reaffirmed the commitment of the PSUV and the Venezuelan people with the defense of the homeland and the continuity of the Bolivarian project: «Venezuela will not stop; we will keep advancing no matter what,» he concluded.
