Venezuela’s Acting President, Delcy Rodríguez, congratulated the re-election of Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni after the elections held last January 17.
Through her channel on Telegram, the high officer acknowledged the management of the African leader.
Rodríguez highlighted Museveni’s leadership at the head of the Non-Aligned Countries Movement (NAM), noting that his management “strengthened the voice of the Global South” on the international scenario.
This recognition highlights Uganda’s role in multilateral diplomacy. The Venezuelan Acting President insisted on that this diplomatic gesture “reaffirms our South-South brotherhood.”
She also stressed the shared commitment to a “multicentric and multipolar world order, of peace, sovereignty, and justice among nations.”
Museveni was declared the winner by an overwhelming majority in the Ugandan presidential elections.
The message of Acting President Delcy Rodríguez concluded with a fervent wish: “Long live the Venezuela-Uganda friendship.” This declaration consolidates the ties of cooperation and solidarity between both nations within the Global South bloc.
