A call was made for national dialogue and high-level politics

Following the Annual Address to the Nation, the president of the National Assembly (AN), Deputy Jorge Rodríguez, issued an urgent call to demonstrate an iron-clad will to resuming political dialogue and high-level politics in the country, urging for this call not to be ignored again.

The parliamentarian emphasized that the future of Venezuela must be built upon the foundations established in the Constitution of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, based on coexistence, harmony, and the national symbols that unite the more than 30 million Venezuelans:

“The path is the Constitution, it is coexistence, it is harmony,” affirmed Rodríguez, underscoring the need to prioritize the national interest above any differences.

The president of the National Assembly expressed an open willingness to rectify past mistakes and urged opposition sectors to conduct a thorough self-criticism on the actions that, in his opinion, have contributed to the country’s crises: “It is fundamental that we all assume our part in building a better future,” he stated.

In the economic sphere, Rodríguez was emphatic in stating that any new financial resources entering the country must be allocated exclusively to the Venezuelan people, guaranteeing that social justice is the absolute priority.

The parliamentarian put a special emphasis on three law bills presented by initiative of the National Executive, to which it was committed the National Assembly to act with “speed and courage” for their discussion and approval. He highlighted that these legal instruments represent a significant contribution from the parliamentarians “to the greatness and prosperity of the Nation.”

Finally, the deputy paid special tribute to the courage and work of the Acting President of the Republic, Delcy Rodríguez Gómez, highlighting her performance during recent critical moments.
