Acting President of the Republic, Delcy Rodríguez, outlined this Thursday the route of the foreign and trade policy of Venezuela, reaffirming the State’s commitment to diversifying its international links.
During her address within the framework of the notification of the start of the 2026-2031 Constitutional Legislative Period, where she evaluated the state of the nation’s trade relations, Rodríguez referred to the ties with Washington, describing them as “a stain on the history of bilateral relations.”
She assured that “Venezuela’s dynamism in the international market is unstoppable. We continue consolidating our presence in a sovereign manner.”
In the energy sector, which is one of the pillars of the national economy, the Acting President provided a significant figure: the United States is still a relevant destination, representing 27% of total exports from the sector, which in turn covers 71% of all the country’s exports.
She reaffirmed that Venezuelan foreign policy is based on a complete openness to economic exchange.
The Acting President assured that this willingness extends to “all nations that may wish to work under mutual respect.”
Finally, she highlighted the Venezuelan State’s intention to strengthen ties, both in the American hemisphere as with key partners in Asia and Europe. The declared objective of this strategy is to guarantee national energy security through an ample network of cooperation.
