Through a videoconference with authorities from the Italian ITA Airways airline, the Vice Ministry for Air Transport, and the National Institute of Civil Aeronautics (INAC), the Vice Minister for National Tourism, Nadia Mignogna, evaluated the opening of a direct air route connecting Rome and Caracas.
According to what was informed by the Ministry for Tourism, the initiative follows the guidelines of open skies policy promoted by Minister Daniela Cabello, with the aim of consolidating Venezuela as a «hub» (central point of connection, distribution, and regional integration).
The ITA Airways proposal would add flights that could benefit all Italian-Venezuelan families, as well as offer another option for European tourists seeking a connection with nature and adventure in each of the most emblematic destinations in Venezuela.
With the opening of this new route, new opportunities are expected to open for the hotel industry, local businesses, municipalities and tourism service providers, while consolidating ties so that the country can establish itself as a competitive and sustainable destination for the European market.
