The Venezuelan government announced this Friday the dismantling of organized crime structures that operated in southeastern Bolívar state, following a joint operation between Venezuelan and U.S. security agencies.
During the deployment were registered armed clashes occurred in which Héctor Rusthenford Guerrero Flores, a.k.a. “Niño Guerrero,” was killed. Authorities identified him as the leader of a criminal organization.
According to official information, the procedure was based on cooperation mechanisms, exchange of intelligence information, and specialized technological support between the administrations of both countries.
Likewise, the Venezuelan Executive also ratified the commitment of the State to pursuing organized crime networks in order to maintain internal order and protect citizens in the border region.

“The Government of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela reports that, as part of a joint operation between Venezuelan and United States security agencies in southeastern Bolívar State, were dismantled organized crime structures that operated in the area.
During the development of the operation, occurred clashes with members of these criminal structures, in which resulted neutralized Héctor Rusthenford Guerrero Flores, a.k.a. “Niño Guerrero,” leader of a criminal organization.
The operation counted with specialized technology support and was carried out through mechanisms of cooperation and intelligence sharing between the authorities of both countries.
We congratulate the work of all the officials, security bodies and institutions that participated in this successful operation.
The Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela reaffirms its commitment to the fight against organized crime and will continue to adopt the necessary measures to guarantee peace, tranquility, and the protection of our people.
