A mutual energy agenda with projection up to 2050 is part of what is comprised in the understanding memorandum recently signed between Petróleos de Venezuela, S.A. (PDVSA) and the Spanish Repsol company, according to what was stated by the President in Charge of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Delcy Rodríguez, who led the signing of the agreement with Repsol representatives at Miraflores Palace:
“Both Repsol and PDVSA, under the auspices of the Ministry for Hydrocarbons, will now continue exploring other areas of cooperation to keep growing; […] Here we are talking about an energy agenda that projects to 2050,” communicated Rodríguez.
Likewise, she indicated that agreements of this nature are also aimed at guaranteeing the well-being of the Venezuelan people, as well as access to energy for the peoples of the world; beyond the benefits obtained between the Venezuelan nation and the Iberian company.
“We know that the Global South is greatly impacted in the access to energy, and especially energy for development,” as clarified the president in charge.
Finally, she indicated to the Repsol representatives that they “have open doors in Venezuela to continue expanding their investments,” which are protected by new regulations, and that they can perceive the Venezuelan nation as a reliable partner in which to position their capital, as well as “to march together in the future of the world.”
