The President of the Republic, Delcy Rodríguez, requested on Tuesday to the National Assembly (AN) to undertake a partial reform of the Constitutional Law Against Hatred, for Peaceful Coexistence and Tolerance.
In a letter sent to the President of the National Assembly, Jorge Rodríguez, the Dignitary noted that the reform «aims to advance in the decriminalization of the conduct outlined in the aforementioned legal instrument, as part of the actions taken by the National Government to transform the criminal justice system of the country and foster reconciliation and democratic coexistence among Venezuelans.»
Also, the Head of State explained that this measure would have a positive impact «on rebuilding trust in institutions and revitalizing the Nation’s democratic life.»
The Constitutional Law Against Hatred, for Peaceful Coexistence and Tolerance, was published in Official Gazette No. 41,276 dated November 10, 2017.

It is my pleasure to address you in this opportunity to extend my warm greeting and, at the same time, to request the National Assembly for the partial reform of the Constitutional Law Against Hatred, for Peaceful Coexistence and Tolerance, published in the Official Gazette of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela N. 41.276, dated November 10, 2017.
The reform requested ais to advance in the decriminalization of the conduct outlined in the aforementioned legal instrument, as part of the actions adopted by the National Government to transform the criminal justice system of our country and thus favor the re-encounter and democratic coexistence among all Venezuelans.
Finally, and seeing the positive impact that this reform will generate in the reconstruction of trut in the institutions and in dynamizing the democratic life of the Nation, I thank in advance your good work for this initiative can be considered with an urgency character.
