The President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Delcy Rodríguez, led the commemorative event for the two decades of operation of the Latin American Children’s Cardiology Hospital «Dr. Gilberto Rodríguez Ochoa,» located in the La Vega parish of Caracas.
During the institutional tour, the President observed practical demonstrations of the cardiovascular rehabilitation and cardiopulmonary resuscitation program by children and young people who had undergone surgery at the medical center, besides participating in the official presentation of the book and album «Twenty Songs for the Heart of a People.»
The meeting included a review of the historical achievements of the specialized center, which has performed 15,393 surgical interventions and hemodynamic procedures since its creation.
Likewise, the event served as a framework to formalize the modernization and technological infrastructure plans projected for 2026, aimed at providing new equipment for echocardiography, hemodynamics, extracorporeal circulation systems and fixed and portable X-ray systems.
