The President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Delcy Rodríguez, met this Wednesday with representatives of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) to continue the constructive dialogue established in recent months.
The discussions focused on exchanging views on macroeconomic prospects, economic policy priorities, areas of technical assistance aimed at strengthening institutional capacities, and the use of international reserves to finance the «Venezuela Renace”(Venezuela Reborn) Plan.
Attending the meeting on behalf of the IMF were the Director of the Western Hemisphere Department, Nigel Chalk; the Assistant Director of the Western Hemisphere Department and Chief of Mission for Venezuela, Álvaro Piris; and the Deputy Chief of Mission for Venezuela, Juan Yépez Albornoz.
Among the Venezuelan authorities participating in the meeting were the Sectoral Vice President for Administration and Digital Government and Minister of People’s Power for Economy and Finance, Anabel Pereira Fernández; the Sectoral Vice President for Economy, Calixto Ortega; the President of the Central Bank of Venezuela (BCV), Luis Pérez; and the Vice Minister of Finances and Vice President of Finances for Petróleos de Venezuela (PDVSA), Christiam Hernández.
During the visit, the IMF delegation will hold meetings with senior officials from the economic team and other relevant public institutions. This mission reflects the progressive normalization of the relationship between Venezuela and the International Monetary Fund and is part of a broader process of engagement with the international financial community.
