President Delcy Rodríguez led reopening of strategic businesses in La Guaira and delivery of loans to entrepreneurs

As part of the economic strengthening and the social care for the communities affected by the earthquakes of last June 24, the President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Delcy Rodríguez, led a work agenda in La Guaira state, focused on commercial reactivation and the impulse to the entrepreneurship force of the central coast.

The journey began with the reopening of the Farmatodo pharmacy located in the Los Corales sector, on Camurichico beach in the Caraballeda parish, Vargas municipality.

This location boasts a 105-year history within the chain’s Venezuelan market, and today it reopens its doors, operating 24 hours a day to guarantee access to medicines, hygiene products, and food for residents of Caraballeda and surrounding areas.

Private commitment and social work:

During the activity, could be evident the drive of a Venezuelan brand that has become an example of solidarity; since after the seismic doublet registered last June 24th, they quickly activated their branches to assist affected families, setting up first aid stations, opening their facilities as temporary shelters, and distributing drinking water and medicine, working in partnership with the National Institute of Land Transportation (INTT) and the Bolivarian National Police Force (PNB).

The self-service model of this establishment generates 40 direct jobs for local residents and strengthens the national economy, given that more than 50% of the products sold in the chain are Venezuelan-made, representing 70% of its total sales.

Furthermore, the pharmacy is resuming its free community support programs, such as «Cuidamos Tu Salud”(We Take Care of Your Health).

Integral Plan for Economic Reactivation:

As part of the National Government’s response to overcome the challenges that impacted commercial activity following the double earthquake, the President also led the second phase of financing for entrepreneurs in La Guaira, within the framework of the plan announced on August 6th in Catia La Mar.

After a first phase focused on stabilizing supply and local tourism, which benefited 1,766 entrepreneurs, this new injection of capital is intended to recover and reactivate the state’s productive capacity.

On this occasion, 478 loans are being directed to entrepreneurs and merchants in the formal sector of the state. This disbursement is made possible thanks to the effective collaboration between public and private banks through agreements reached at the recent Banking Fair, guaranteeing the necessary tools for the consolidation of regional commerce.

With these actions, the National Government and the private sector reaffirm their joint commitment to guaranteeing the integral well-being of families in La Guaira and the sustainable development of the local economy.
