The President of the Republic, Delcy Rodríguez, stated this Tuesday that «the faith of our people once again finds itself today at the feet of the Virgen del Valle (Virgin of the Valley), Patroness of eastern Venezuela and protector of our fishermen and our Bolivarian Navy.»
The statement was published via the Telegram channel of the Head of State, who added that this devotion «unites generations, families, and entire communities.» Likewise, she expressed: «May her light always shine upon our Venezuela, and may we never lack the hope, unity, and strength to keep advancing together.»
The celebration of the Most Holy Virgin of the Valley takes place this September 8th in the east of the country, and on this date is also commemorated the 115th anniversary of her canonical coronation. Devotion to her is deeply rooted among the inhabitants of Margarita Island, in Nueva Esparta state, where the «Vallita» has a sanctuary dedicated to her.
