During her work visit to Suriname, the President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Delcy Rodríguez, signed various bilateral instruments aimed at boosting productive, logistical, and institutional exchange between the two nations.
Among the commitments signed by the Venezuelan Head of State and the leader of Suriname, Jennifer Simons, are highlighted the regulation of the fishing and aquaculture sectors in the Atlantic, the agreement on «fifth freedom» air rights to expand commercial passenger and cargo connectivity to third countries, agri-food trade, and the development of joint initiatives in tourism matters.
Additionally, were formalized strategic alliances in the hydrocarbons sector for technical training and technological research, along with educational agreements involving INCES and the Bolivarian University for the Diplomacy of Peace, concluding with a Joint Declaration by both heads of state to establish a common position, demonstrate mutual political support, and outline a cooperation roadmap.
In order to concrete this binational cooperation roadmap, the Natinoal Dignitary is accompanied by an official delegation comprising Ministers Paula Henao (Hydrocarbons), Francisco Garcés (Transport), Daniella Cabello (Tourism), Juan Carlos Loyo (Fisheries and Aquaculture), and Juan Escalona (Office of the Presidency).
The Venezuelan delegation also includes the Sectoral Vice President for Communication and Culture, Miguel Ángel Pérez Pirela; Deputy Ministers Oliver Blanco and Raúl Licausi; and Venezuela’s Ambassador to Suriname, Ayerim Flores Rivas.
