Venezuela to convene OPEC and Non-OPEC countries to evaluate stabilization of the oil market


On Tuesday morning, the President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolas Maduro, held a telephone conversation with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin.
“We congratulated each other on the oil agreement of the OPEC and non-OPEC countries and ratified that Russia will reduce its production in support of OPEC to stabilize the market and achieve reasonable prices. (These are) Good news at the end of the year. ”
This was announced from the Carabobo Battlefield, in Carabobo state, where was held the Grand Plenary of the Homeland Congress.
“I told President Vladimir Putin: I want to thank you for all your efforts and I want to propose that in the first quarter of 2017 we hold a Summit of Heads of State and Government of the OPEC and Non-OPEC countries to see the proposal of stabilization for 10 years of the oil market and the defense of its fair and reasonable prices”, added the Venezuelan Head of State.
He said he will make the official proposal to all OPEC and not OPEC member countries, starting with Russia. In addition, he informed that on Tuesday was developed the Intergovernmental Commission of Russia – Venezuela Cooperation, signing new alliances.
