PSUV: There is no possibility of general elections in 2017

The National Directorate of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV) denied on Monday the possibility that in 2017 there would be general elections, a demand promoted by the opposition in order to remain at the table of dialogue, which was established on October 30 in Caracas with the participation of the Vatican.
In that sense, Freddy Bernal, national leader of the aforementioned political party, rejected that the MUD intends to give an ultimatum deadline of 11 days to the Government, because in his view it is impossible that there would be concrete results in that term.
He emphasized the willingness for a dialogue of the Government of President Nicolás Maduro, while qualifying as a blackmail the demands of the MUD, since in the country there is an electoral timetable established for the elections of Governors and Mayors.
He also informed that this Friday will gather all sectors that make up the dialogue table (Government, opposition, representative of the Vatican and Former Presidents) in order to continue making progress in productive actions for the country.
