
On November 21, 2021, the regional and municipal elections will be held in Venezuela.
The president of the electoral body, Pedro Calzadilla, reported that the Electoral Power approved the schedule and established the registration and data update journey will be held from June 1 to July 15.
The selection of the members of the regional boards and the members of the tables will be on July 27; the period of nominations for candidatures will take place from August 9 to 29.
The process of modifications and substitution of the nominations was established from September 8 to 22, and on September 26 will be held the electoral simulacre.
The main rector of the Electoral Power, Pedro Calzadilla, also reported that 16 audits will be carried out on the automated system, the electoral fairs are scheduled from October 13 to November 13, 2021.
Regarding the electoral campaign, Calzadilla announced that it will begin on October 28 and end on November 18:
«These elections have historical importance, the municipalities are inherited from the old town councils, instances in which the political sovereignty of the country was exercised for the first time. The existence of the Republic depended on this process of aggregation of the regions”, he explained.
Calzadilla recalled that states and municipalities are spaces for exercising participatory and protagonist democracy; With the call for elections, Venezuela initiates one of the most important political dynamics, to guarantee stability, development and peace.
