President Maduro: Opening of pedestrian crossing on the border has been a complete success


The President of the Republic, Nicolas Maduro, reported this Saturday, August 20, that the opening of the pedestrian crossing in the Colombian-Venezuelan border as a first phase, “Has been a complete success”.
“We are confirming the proper functioning of border crossings, these have worked perfectly, a complete success, and this allows us to advance in the opening of other crossings because the methodology is progressing very well”, detailed the Head of State, during a broadcast from the “Sol del Perú” Hall, where it was performed a meeting of the Council of Vice Presidents of Government.
He noted that the decisions made with his counterpart, Juan Manuel Santos, are reacting positively. “It’s what I said, a border of peace, in harmony, which begins to take a new dynamism, with a commercial economic win-win relationship, controlling all variables of smuggling”.
Likewise, the National President declared that since the Presidential Command Post is being monitored this opening of the border, in a permanent coordination with the police, immigration and customs authorities.
“We have been able to solve the problems that arise. I’m going to call Santos in order to advance in taking decision to continue building a border of peace, of cooperation, integration and brotherhood”, he said.
