The President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela Nicolás Maduro announced that the United Socialist Party of Venezuela will convene a congress this week to formalize its support for the candidacy for the re-election of President Maduro, as well as the support for the construction of the 2019-2025 Homeland Plan.
“I am proud of a party that must grow each time more, become yet more stronger. The youth of the United Socialist Party must be strengthened every day and the entire Great Patriotic Pole (…) I want to be the presidential candidate of all patriotic movements and of all Venezuelans who believe in the future”, he said.
The Head of State reiterated his support for the electoral card of “Somos Venezuela” (We Are Venezuela) Movement in the face of the presidential elections.
“In all the presidential elections the missions, great missions, social movements have participated in the electoral processes because they have constitutional political rights (…) in the tactics we are flexible and creative, and in that sense we are going to register the Somos Venezuela Movement and all its representatives have the right to participate in the electoral political debate and to vote for the fatherland”.
“I have put Dr. Delcy Rodríguez to be in charge of the team that will direct the effort so that millions of Venezuelans will vote for the Somos Venezuela movement”, he said.
