On Saturday August 13 starts pedestrian crossing on the border with established schedule


The President of the Republic, Nicolas Maduro, said on Thursday that next Saturday, August 13, starts the pedestrian step opening in the Colombian-Venezuelan border in a continuous manner.
Thus he announced, after holding a meeting with his Colombian counterpart, Juan Manuel Santos, in Puerto Ordaz, Bolivar state, where it was agreed the opening of the border of gradual and orderly manner.
In this regard, the Head of State said that in a first phase, the passage of people will be from 6 am until 9 pm (Venezuela time), and from 5 am to 8 pm (Colombia time).
“At this stage have been established 5 points that will soon published by the delegates from both countries,” he said.
“We have to do everything possible in order for this to be successful, and hopefully when we are in the journey of ministerial assessment and with our Governors, we may have advanced into a new stage”, he said.
Also, the Venezuelan President made a call on the people and the families who live on the border, for everyone “to bet, among all, for the success of this new phase for a new frontier of peace”.
“We are giving an example of how can be built and rebuilt the relationships of all kinds: human, political and diplomatic”, he said.
