COMMUNIQUÉ:
The President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolas Maduro Moros, on behalf of the Venezuelan Government and the people, expresses his fraternal and effusive congratulations to the Government and people of the sisterly Republic of Belarus, on the anniversary of the liberation of the heroic city Minsk, thanks to the Soviet Red Army that defeated the fascist Nazi invasion in 1944.
We pay tribute to the brave Belarusian people, who fearlessly drew the Soviet forces against the invader to regain their sovereign Homeland.
The Supreme Commander Hugo Chavez forged deep and sincere relations of friendship with the Republic of Belarus and with its President Alexander Lukashenko, garnering a valuable strategic alliance of historic dimensions, consolidated with the great advance and the development of cooperation between our countries.
This relationship, based on respect for the principle of sovereign equality of States and the International Law, has allowed to join efforts in the bilateral and multilateral spheres for the formation of a multipolar and multi-centric world.
The Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela ratifies to the Republic of Belarus our strategic ties and our commitment to victoriously face the imperial hegemonies, and thus achieve a world of justice and peace, inspired by the historic strength of our brave peoples.
