Venezuela shows achievements in Public Defense in Mercosur internship plan


Venezuela shows to the defenders of Argentina, Chile and Brazil, the achievements of Public Defense, during the internship plan of the Southern Common Market (MERCOSUR), held by first time in the country, as reported the General Public Defender, Susana Barreiros..
In an interview held on Thursday at the “El Desayuno” (The Breakfast) program, broadcast by Venezolana de Television, she said the exchange program began on June 27 and will end on July 6.
In the activity attendees exchanged ideas on justice systems and functions of public defenses.
Venezuela has, among its achievements, a scientific technical laboratory available to the Public Defender, in which are practiced free DNA tests, as well as expertises in labor defense, human rights, indigenous defense, military, police, criminal and protection of children and adolescents defense.
“We have it covered the visit to a prison to observe under what conditions are prisoners and are guaranteed human rights, (…) in addition to free access to justice,” she said.
For this Thursday are scheduled presentations at the National School of Public Defense and on Saturday July 2nd the Defenders of Mercosur will accompany the nationals in a Community training day, starting at 8:00 am in the urban Ciudad Tiuna , Caracas.
