Strengthening Health system amidst the Covid 19 combat will be a priority of the National Government

Strengthening the health system, amidst the combat of the Covid 19 coronavirus pandemic, will be a priority of the National Government, said this Thursday the President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro.

The Venezuelan head of state stressed the importance of working in an articulated manner with the private health system to meet the needs of the Venezuelan people, especially during the pandemic:

«We must position a health system with the highest efficiency, loving, articulated. It is time to articulate a health system. To recover everything that has to be recovered and for everything to work, as a public system, free and of quality, and articulated with the private system. For the first time we are coordinated. Venezuela has emerged from this pandemic with a system of the highest quality, at the highest level”, said the National President from Miraflores Palace in Caracas.

In this sense, he pointed out that the public health system should be placed at the “number one point of national, family priority. Point number one, caring for the family, the home, caring for the community, caring, protecting the community”.

In this regard, he noted that this situation will last for a long time, and so he asked for the support of the entire Venezuelan society to maintain the health measures and the national, social and collective quarantine, promoted by the National Executive to prevent the spread of Covid- 19.

“We have to face our generation. I say to the youth, to the seasoned people, to the more experienced people, older adults, to the family, we had to face this pandemic, we are facing it with integrity, with the national, evident, broad support of the people of Venezuela, but this is not going to happen overnight. Let’s be aware so that this reassures us”, he said.

Venezuela registers 311 positive cases due to the outbreak, after confirming this Thursday 13 new infected with coronavirus.

Similarly, the number of recoveries from the outbreak rises to 126, while the number of fatalities remains at 10.
