President Maduro arrived in Havana to participate in activities for peace in Colombia


The President of the Republic, Nicolas Maduro, arrived on Wednesday night in Havana, Cuba, to participate in the signing of the cessation of the armed conflict between the Government of Colombia and the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia – People’s Army (FARC-EP).
This was made known in his account on the Twitter social network @NicolasMaduro.
On Thursday will be held on the island signed a landmark agreement to finalize the definitive cessation of the bi-lateralarmed conflict in the neogranadine nation.
It is expected that in this activity will be present the President of Colombia, Juan Manuel Santos, the President of Cuba, Raul Castro; the Secretary General of the United Nations Organization (UN), Ban Ki-moon and the United States’s Secretary of State, John Kerry.
This agreement will address three essential points for the end of the conflict. The most important of these consists of a roadmap leading to definitive bilateral cease fire and the surrender of weapons by the insurgent group, which will be verified by the United Nations, through its Security Council.
