The president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro Moros, announced the approval of 1,300 postgraduate scholarships within the framework of the Great Mission of Science, Technology and Innovation.
From the inspection of the progress in the construction of the headquarters of the University of Sciences, Dr. Humberto Hernández Moran, the head of State, pointed out that these scholarships will be for the academic strengthening of each Venezuelan scientist: «Let’s move forward as much as we can, we are building the path to technological independence and through innovation we will give the necessary impulse to Venezuela.»
Likewise, he announced the call for the reception of proposals for productive technological innovation projects starting on September 15 in the context of the activity of the creative powers of the people, technological innovation in the face of sanctions.
Regarding this call, the Minister of People’s Power for Science and Technology, Gabriela Jiménez, highlighted that «this proposal aims to reward those who have contributed solutions in the area of agricultural production, dealing with diseases, roads, engineering, and so many elements of innovation. We want to learn from them and we will go with the communes to recognize popular innovation and accompany the transformation processes.»
