The President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro Moros, leads a work session dedicated to the activation of the Hydrocarbons Engine, in which participated ministers and executives from the state-owned company Petróleos de Venezuela S.A. (PDVSA).
President Maduro mentioned, during an interview last January with journalist and internationalist Ignacio Ramonet, that the government is committed to addressing this sector as a key motor for the Venezuelan economy, which has faced significant challenges in recent years.
He also highlighted the importance of hydrocarbons as a fundamental pillar for the national economic growth.
In this context, President Nicolás Maduro announced a reorganization of the Venezuelan economy into 13 strategic motors, and appointed the respective heads of each Engine.
In this regard, the Head of State was accompanied this Tuesday by those in charge of the Hydrocarbons Engine, linked to the Bolivarian Economic Agenda: the Executive Vice President and Minister of People’s Power for Hydrocarbons, Delcy Rodríguez; and the President of Petróleos de Venezuela S.A. (PDVSA), Héctor Obregón.
Also present were Anabel Pereira, Minister of People’s Power for Economy and Finances; Larry Devoe, Legal Consultant for PDVSA; and deputy ministers.
This team, which is part of the Engine, held meetings to evaluate and ensure compliance with the objectives set by President Nicolás Maduro Moros and addressed issues related to the growth of oil and industrial activity, which Venezuela has recovered through its own efforts and by circumventing Unilateral Coercive Measures.
The Bolivarian Government continues to support Venezuela as a key player in the international energy landscape.
