Productive engines in Venezuela plan to diversify exports

On the second day of the meeting of the Agro-Food, Fishing and Aquaculture engine, they addressed issues regarding the strengthening of national production, the diversification of exports and the articulation between the public and private sectors, with the aim of promoting the development of the sector.

Likewise, during the meeting, they handled the diversification of international markets and the optimization of processes.

Juan Carlos Loyo, minister who presides over this Agro-Food, Fishing and Aquaculture engine, together with the Minister for Productive Agriculture and Lands, Menry Fernández, and the Minister of People’s Power for Food Carlos Leal Tellería, met with businessmen from the fishing sector to analyze the challenges of the sector and propose the next steps.

Based on this, the authorities and businessmen discussed the increase in the fishing sector in recent years, especially in the production of sardines:

The sardine sector has grown in recent years. One looks at the shelves today and they are stocked, thanks to the commitment of the Bolivarian Government with the Venezuelan people, we have a short, medium and long term horizon, we are a society that leaves great economic achievements to the following generations,” said the Minister of Productive Agriculture and Lands.

For his part, Minister Loyo highlighted that these productive engines are key in the Venezuelan economic dynamic, which have allowed growth and therefore, to get out of the situation imposed by the economic war.

At this point, he stressed that thanks to the national productive advance, Venezuela is currently in an extremely important movement of economic activity.

Exports of poultry products:

In addition, Francisco Tagliapietra of the National Federation of Poultry Farming of Venezuela (Fenavi) stated that the poultry sector supplies around 65% of the animal proteins in the country and stressed that they can increase the national production capacity for exports.

(…) We have the capacity to increase production, guaranteeing the consumption of poultry products at a national level and will deepen the export of production,” he added.

This meeting was held under the guidelines of re-boost and projection established in the country’s economic agenda, framed in the implementation of the 13 engines, of which the Agri-Food, Fishing and Aquaculture sector is a fundamental piece.
