The Onia bridge that connects the states Mérida and Táchira is now ready, reported President Nicolás Maduro, who instructed: “proceed to open it and begin communication between El Vigía and Táchira state.”
The announcement was made during his visit to Mérida state, where he inaugurated other works and reported significant progress in various projects to benefit the community of Mérida.
Secondly, the head of state spoke about the asphalting plan in the Presidente Páez parish, in the Alberto Adriani municipality, as well as in the Pan American Axis of the Onia and Guaruríes Section.
Regarding water supply, President Maduro reported that of the eleven planned wells, seven are already operational and the rest will be operational soon:
“The provision and strengthening of the Los Andes university hospital has also advanced and is completed in its first stage,” highlighted President Maduro.
In energy matters, the President reaffirmed his commitment to install fifty megawatts of solar energy in El Vigía within a period of eight months. In this sense, he highlighted that «work has already begun and we have one megawatt powering twenty buildings with solar energy», located in the Bubuqui Housing Complex.
“The solar panels are arriving here and you will have your fifty megawatts to strengthen the stability of the electrical system of Vigía and all of Mérida. Solar energy, you take care of it, be aware of the saboteurs, look, there are a lot of infiltrators out there sabotaging,” he instructed.
Finally, the national dignitary announced the rehabilitation of the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Los Andes (ULA).
“I also committed myself to other tasks and missions but I can tell the city of Mérida, the students and the ULA, that I gave you the Faculty of Medicine shiny, totally renewed, in record time, with quality. Word committed, word fulfilled” he stressed.
