The Minister for Defense, Vladimir Padrino López, on behalf of the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB) denounced that the country is facing a coup d’état in progress led by the extremist sector of the right wing of the country supported by the Government of the United States, which the minister condemned, and also ratified the attachment of the military sector to the peace of the Republic, to the constitutional order and the most absolute loyalty to the president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro:
«We are in the presence of a coup d’état, forged by the extremist right wing, supported by the American government, but we are going to defeat that coup d’état once again,» said Padrino López in a statement to the country made in the company of the entire Military High Command, at the headquarters of the Ministry of Defense, in Caracas.
He assured that “the Commander in Chief of the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB), Nicolás Maduro Moros, has taken the lead to stop these terrorist actions.”
He reiterated the support of the FANB and the people of Venezuela for the head of state recently reelected by the majority of Venezuelans on July 28:
“There is no one who can overcome the conscience of a people, there is no one who can overcome the moral strength of an institution like ours, the Bolivarian National Armed Forces,” he emphasized.
Padrino López called on the fascist sectors to take the democratic and constitutional path.
“Our Commander in Chief has already announced his intention to call for a sincere, face-to-face dialogue after this great event on July 28,” he said.
The terrorist groups that have generated violence in various parts of the country in recent hours have been incorporated into the so-called «comanditos» (Little Commandos) of the Vente Venezuela group, led by the far-right wing leader María Corina Machado, as denounced this Monday the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro.
