The constitutional president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro Moros, approved the creation of the Ministry of People’s Power for Older Adults, as part of the proposals of the National Congress of Grandfathers and Grandmothers of the new Great Mission, which this Wednesday offered its conclusions before the head of state:
“With the constitutional power that I have as head of Government, State and president, I order the creation of the Ministry of People’s Power for Older Adults, for the grandfathers and grandmothers, to take charge of all the vertices of the Great Mission Grandfathers and Grandmothers of the Homeland,” summarized the national leader from the Teresa Carreño Theater, where he shared with thousands of Venezuelans who thanked the Venezuelan State for its unconditional support for their welfare state.
When thanking the Executive Vice President for presenting this proposal from grandparents to the government, President Maduro commented that Delcy Rodríguez is still a “kid,” but she is in tune with the needs of older adults:
“We always have to organize better and the Great Mission for grandfathers, grandmothers and older adults deserves higher levels,” he explained when urging people to take charge of this initiative that is included in the Bolivarian Government’s plans.
“We had thought about that within the framework of the 7T Homeland Plan project, I had thought about it because I had heard it from you. The Homeland Plan of the 7 transformations that Venezuela needs for the New Era of Transition to Socialism (NETS) towards 2030. I thought about it to make it part of the project and since there are changes that must be made now, it does not merit delay and we have the power to do it,” he summarized.
The Ministry, said the president, must concentrate all the potential of the State to protect and assist grandparents.
