The constitutional president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro Moros, denounced terrorist plans by the former president of Colombia, Álvaro Uribe Vélez, and the Venezuelan fugitive criminal Leopoldo López, and put the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB) on alert to face the new threats that seek to attack public services in border states:
“Leopoldo López with Álvaro Uribe Vélez, I have information about their plans that they are preparing to attack the neighboring states of Zulia, with terrorists, with paramilitaries, to attack public services in Zulia, Táchira, etc.,” he denounced during the “Con Maduro+” program, from the Ana María Campos Park, where he formally handed over the first ten hectares for the benefit of the people of Zulia.
The national leader reported that the two confessed and convicted terrorists met this weekend in a place in Colombia, and the information received is that they are trying to affect the tranquility of Venezuelans, with the ultimate goal of avoiding the presidential elections called by the National Electoral Council (CNE) for July 28:
“When these two evil terrorists meet, it is to conspire. Be on alert, FANB and intelligence and counterintelligence organizations, we have to defend peace in Venezuela, peace and security! And these terrorists with their surnames cannot come to try to disrupt our economic recovery and disrupt the electoral festival of democracy that we will have on July 28, a blessed Sunday of Venezuela,” summarized the head of state.
The president alerted the Colombian authorities about the plans of these terrorists, and stated that from Venezuela the people will not allow sabotage of the presidential elections or the daily life in peace that has been achieved.
For his part, deputy Diosdado Cabello, when being consulted by the Worker President, recalled that the leadership of the right and extreme right wing planned an attack on Venezuelan military units on December 31 of last 2023, in order to generate a terrorist escalation, but they were detected, captured and convicted and confessed. The detainees have told who they are and with what mechanisms they sought to carry out attacks so that the Venezuelan people could not enjoy a peaceful end of the year, as finally happened thanks to the security efforts that detected and stopped criminal attempts.
“Behind all this is the hand of the region’s terrorist, Álvaro Uribe Vélez, and his accomplices within Venezuela. They generate worries for the area of America, they are involved in a global campaign to blame what happens in the region on Venezuela. It is neither innocent nor casual…they are very cowardly and always use the same repetitive script,” asserted Cabello.
The first vice president of the PSUV joined the presidential call to the FANB and also to the Venezuelan revolutionary people, to immediately detect and report any irregularity or suspicious presence: “to put the brakes on it, and for each little flame that arises, is a little flame that we turn off”.
“So be it complied with!” expressed President Maduro, reiterating the alert to the security forces of the Venezuelan State and the revolutionaries of the organized People’s Power.
