US offensive against Venezuela was sponsored by the opposition since 2015

The offensive that imposed unilateral coercive measures against Venezuela from the United States and the European Union (EU) began once the oligarchy took control of the National Assembly (AN) in 2015, as recalled by the president of the Bolivarian Republic. of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, after holding a meeting with deputies of the Homeland Bloc at the headquarters of the Legislative Branch:

“The counterrevolutionary offensive against Venezuela began there, and I said it on the national radio and television network, on that day, [December 2, 2015] when we were going through a difficult moment,” said the head of state.

He indicated that the Venezuelan opposition took “the queuing method” as a political weapon, at a time when the economic war intensified and, progressively, basic necessities, food and essential items for the population disappeared:

“It is the same right wing [today] that is oligarchic, sells the country and is pro-gringo. Let us remember that in 2016, they were determined to destroy our economy by not approving the nation’s budget and additional credits. What they did was do political, economic and social damage to Venezuela,” he expressed.
