“The inhabitants of the Venezuelan people are libertarians,” said the head of state, accompanied by the Minister of People’s Power for Culture, Ernesto Villegas, and members of the parranda group, who dressed in colorful costumes, made President Maduro and the first combatant woman, Cilia Flores, dance.
The Afro-descendant festival, with more than 200 years of tradition, is celebrated every December 28, in the Pantoja and La Línea sectors, belonging to the Acevedo municipality of Miranda state.
This December 6, UNESCO declared the Bandos and Parrandas de los Santos Inocentes de Caucagua as Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. The decision was made at the Intergovernmental Committee meeting held in Botswana, Africa.
“I invite you to Caucagua, this December 28, so that you can enjoy the year 2023, the great victory obtained by being declared Intangible Cultural Heritage of all of Humanity. A Great achievement!” said the head of state, who then concluded the program with the presentation of the legendary Christmas musical group, Los Tucusitos.
