Executive Vice President: The way is the Geneva Agreement and the Venezuelan Constitution

The Vice President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Delcy Rodríguez, expressed that the path is clear and that is for Guyana to return to the international legality established in the Geneva Agreement and in the Constitution of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela. She made these statements after exercising the right to vote in the consultative referendum for Guayana Esequiba.

She indicated that Guyana “is a de facto occupier of our land territory, the International Court of Justice said, they have the administration, but they do not have titles, they have not had it in history, nor will they have it. They try to have an international title that validates their territory.”

Regarding what the Guyanese government does at sea “it is an abusive position of law, they break international legality, they know that they violate international law. They have to resume the Geneva Agreement negotiations and respect international legality, and what the Venezuelan people say today is very important. This is the path: peace, international legality and what is established in the Constitution of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela.”

Venezuelans who vote exercise sovereignty, today is a day where we are all equal, each vote will remain in the pages of history, to defend sovereignty,” she highlighted.

She highlighted that Venezuela votes, “that fills us with emotion; Anyone who has not voted should go out and vote. This footprint is what we leave for future generations. Guyana failed to give orders to Venezuela”, so she added that, we must “congratulate each other, for this participation, in which there are common spaces, which is the defense of territorial space.”
