Venezuela and Colombia review map of binational cooperation

At the Casa Amarilla Antonio José de Sucre (Seat of the Chancellory), in Caracas, the vice minister for Latin America of the Ministry of People’s Power for Foreign Relations, Rander Peña, met with the Colombian ambassador accredited to Venezuela, Milton Rengifo, with the aim of reviewing the broad map of binational cooperation.

The diplomats analyzed the progress in the political, consular and cooperation aspects in general, in the context of the Neighborhood and Integration Commission between both countries, also carrying out a review of the strategic issues for what will be the work agenda during this 2024.

In November 2023, President Gustavo Petro visited Caracas and together with the national president, Nicolás Maduro, important aspects regarding energy and climate change were defined. This visit to Venezuela was the fifth that the New Granadean president made since he assumed the Presidency in August 2022.

On this last opportunity, President Petro emphasized that Venezuela will be one of the engines of the reactivation of the Colombian economy.
