President Maduro urges to spread the truth about Venezuela’s historical rights over the Essequibo

To the diplomatic corps of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela accredited abroad, the head of State and Government, Nicolás Maduro, urged them to join forces to disseminate – on an international scale – the truth about Venezuela’s historical rights over Guayana Esequiba.

From Miraflores Palace, in Caracas, he pointed out the need to understand and make understood the historical development of the territorial controversy between the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela and the Cooperative Republic of Guyana “in the face of so much manipulation and lies.”

In this sense, he stressed that the manipulation strategies against Venezuela aim to “turn the dispossessed, the victim of these horrific events into victimizers.”

President Nicolás Maduro reiterated that “Venezuela is fighting a historic battle for its right to exist, for its right to peace and for its constitutional rights”, a scenario that calls for the full unity of the people – in the midst of diversity – to counteract the imperialist aggression that seeks to take over the territory that belongs to Venezuelans by tradition, history and law:

We have fought many battles over the centuries, we have had great learning as a people over the centuries and this 21st century has been one of rebirth, a beautiful century for us and now it is our turn – always with the people – to fight a battle. against one of the most brutal imperial dispossessions known: the dispossession of the British empire that it claimed over our territory,” he added.
