Venezuela strengthens cooperation with Development Bank of Latin America

The Executive Vice President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Delcy Rodríguez, participated in the presentation of the Report on the Economy of the Development Bank of Latin America, where she highlighted the country’s economic recovery.

She referred that the estimates of the Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC), put Venezuela as the eighth country with the highest growth in non-traditional exports this year: “That is why I proudly say that the Venezuelan productive sectors are today much more consolidated”, pointed out Rodríguez.

She indicated the Executive Vice President that “these are very positive signs.” ECLAC places a growth estimate for this year at 10%, she said.

However, she recalled that “the Central Bank of Venezuela records a projection for the second quarter of 2022, which would be above 18%. We’ve had four straight quarters of growth”, she added.

In agro-industrial matters, she highlighted that the country is advancing in the import substitution process, between 2020 and 2021, corn production grew more than 60%, while rice grew 17%.

That is why Vice President Rodríguez underlined the advances that in economic matters are being recognized by industrial entrepreneurs, after revealing the figures of the most recent survey of private unions that highlight the recovery of the economy in relation to the situation of 12 months ago. and that indicate that 54% of those consulted see it as better.

Regarding the issue of trade opening with Colombia, Rodríguez said that: “it has been good news, the resumption of relations between Venezuela and Colombia, not only because of its historical dimension but also because of its great potential”.
