Delegation of the Venezuelan Government arrives in Barbados to resume peace talks

This Tuesday morning, the delegation of the National Government arrived in Barbados to resume peace talks with the opposition that lives in the Unitary Platform.

The delegation is headed by the president of the National Assembly, Jorge Rodríguez.

This Monday, the Norwegian Embassy in Mexico reported on the dialogue process, which will begin meetings this Tuesday in Barbados.

The last meeting between a sector of the opposition and the Delegation of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, as part of the process facilitated by Norway and Mexico, took place in November of last year which culminated in the signing of the Second Partial Agreement for the Protection of Venezuelan people in Mexico City.

This agreement establishes the conditions for the execution of protection measures for the Venezuelan people, as well as the constitution and mandate of the bodies created through the Partial Agreement of September 2021. Among these, the National Social Care Table and the Special Group for care of the effects of overcompliance.
