Chancellor urged OAS to review and prosecute performance of Luis Almagro

Speaking at the 46th General Assembly of the Organization of American States (OAS), held in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, the Chancellor Delcy Rodríguez denounced to the 34 member states, the conspiratorial role that Luis Almagro, secretary general of this organization, has played against Venezuela.
“I have many evidences on how the Secretary General has offended Venezuela (…) He has offended the Chief Executive publicly calling him a traitor, a liar, a thief, a dictator, that is not the language to refer to a Head of State by an official of a international organization”, said the chancellor.
In that regard, she urged members to review and prosecute the performance of the Secretary General under the rules and principles of the Organization of American States.
“I want to read, verbatim, Article 137 of the general rules for the operation of the Secretary General (…) it says that will refrain from any activities that result in loss of independence or impartiality in their respective roles, but only in a year, the Secretary General has been devoted to harass Venezuela”.
Likewise, the Foreign Minister also emphasized that Almagro “is not the President of the Americas” and recalled that his agenda should be at the service of the member States.
