Venezuela rejects violation of the OAS Charter by Luis Almagro

The Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela through a communiqué, categorically rejected the request submitted by the Secretary General of the Organization of American States (OAS), Luis Almagro, «which aims fraudulently to invoke Article 20 of the Inter-American Democratic Charter. »
According to what is expressed in the communiqué, Almagro «violates the constitutional and legal system of Venezuela, self-imposing supranational powers on himself, and violating the OAS Charter, particularly Article 118».
Likewise, our country has denounced the action outside its competence with extra-limitation of functions and abuse of power by the Secretary General of the OAS, «which prevents its proper operation in accordance with Article 116, contrary to the purposes and principles enshrined in the Charter of this Organization «.
