The Minister for Defense and Sectoral Vice President for Political Sovereignty, Security and Peace, G/J Vladimir Padrino López, rejected the false accusations of the Government of Colombia about an alleged violation of air and land space, specifically in the Tibú municipality in North Santander, by the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB):
“Desperation is a bad counselor. No false positive will distort the historical truth that links the dying Colombian oligarchy with narco-politics. Absolutely nothing can tarnish the national honor in its legitimate right to protect its geographical space. In context, the Government of Venezuela issued an official statement this Saturday to deny the false accusations spread by Colombia about the alleged violation of its airspace.
In the official text, Venezuela emphasizes that on April 26 an anti-drug deployment was carried out in the sector corresponding to the Vereda Francisco de Paula Santander, district of La Gabarra, in the Municipality of Tibú, North Santander, west of the international border of Zulia state, in the border area with Colombia, an operation that allowed the destruction of crops and drug processing laboratories “as part of our sovereign policy against this international scourge”.
“These operations are carried out in the face of the unfortunate absence of the Colombian government’s security forces on its borders. Venezuela ratifies its willingness to protect and comprehensively defend Venezuelan territory and, respectful of International Law, strongly refutes the continuous praxis of ‘false positives'”, as states the text.
Emphatically, the Official Communiqué ratifies the disposition of Venezuela in the protection and integral defense of the Venezuelan territory and respectful of International Law, forcefully refutes the continuous praxis of “False Positives”:
“In this sense, we reiterate before the international community and before the Venezuelan people, that as established by the National Constitution, the Bolivarian Government maintains an unwavering will to defend sovereignty and independence against threats of any nature, whatever their origin”, expresses the text.
