Venezuela this Sunday presented 61 international Covid-19 cases in the country with no community cases

The president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, confirmed this Sunday that no community cases have been reported, and were detected 61 new positive international cases for the Covid-19 coronavirus, which brings the total number of infected people to 2,377.

President Maduro explained that, of the number of imported cases – as explained the National President – 59 are coming from Colombia and two from Ecuador.

The 59 cases from Colombia are compatriots who entered the country through the border crossings of Táchira (57) and Apure states (2).

Of the total number of people infected nationwide, “83% of cases are imported,” said the Venezuelan president.

Until now, of the active cases; 1,366 are in sentinel hospitals; 486 are in Integral Diagnostic Centers (CDI); 16 in private clinics. Similarly, Venezuela registers 487 people recovered, and 22 deceased.

In this sense, President Maduro urged the Venezuelan population to comply, with discipline, with the new quarantine journey, which begins this Monday:

“Let’s set the example, once again Venezuela sets the example of discipline, of national union, and within a week, seven days of flexibilization, where we are going to incorporate much more sectors”, said the Venezuelan head of state.
