Vice President thanked the vast majority of countries that acknowledge Venezuela’s progress in terms of Human Rights

During the presentation of the Universal Periodic Review of the United Nations Organization, the Executive Vice President of the Bolivarian Republic, Delcy Rodríguez Gómez, thanked the countries that highlighted the negative impact of unilateral coercive measures on the enjoyment of human rights and the advances that in matters of promotion and guarantees has made Venezuela in recent years.

Rodríguez stressed that the universal periodic review is an instrument that allows the sincere study of Human Rights, but urged that “it must be marked by the principle of impartiality and not political instrumentalization to guarantee that humanity is more humane”.

The vice president demanded the ceasing of the unilateral coercive measures against Venezuela and all the countries that have been victims of this policy against humanity; She also demanded that nations that apply this type of measure be left out of the United Nations Human Rights Council.

The senior official assured that Venezuela will continue joining efforts to annul the perverse effects of the predatory capitalist model. She ended the presentation by quoting a few lines from Venezuelan writer Augusto Mijares: “A hero is the one who resists when others surrender, the one who believes when others doubt, the one who rebels against routine and conformism, the one who remains pure when others prostitute themselves, the Venezuelan affirmation could be another hymn to heroism, let the example of the heroic people of Venezuela serve, so that the peoples of the world do not give up or surrender”.
