CNE approves electoral schedule for new election of governor of Barinas

This Tuesday, the National Electoral Council (CNE) made official the call for the election of the governor of Barinas state for next January 9, 2022, and approved the schedule for this process, which will be published this Wednesday, December 1.

According to the information disclosed by the electoral body through its account on Twitter, the period of applications for the candidatures will be between Thursday 2 and Monday 6 December, while modifications and substitutions are scheduled from 18 and on the 30th, “but these changes will not be seen on the ballot”.

In addition, for this election in which the same regional and municipal Electoral Registry will be used on November 21, the campaign will take place between December 22 and January 6.

Likewise, were set four audits to the voting machine configuration files; machine production; zeroing of the national totalization centers; and telecommunications.

The repetition of the election for the position of governor of the state of Barinas takes place after the Electoral Chamber of the Supreme Court of Justice (TSJ) admitted a constitutional protection action on said process.
