AN approves in first discussion Draft Organic Law on the Right to the City

This Tuesday the plenary of the National Assembly (AN) approved in the first discussion the Organic Law Project on the Right to the City, and it was sent to the Social Development Commission to organize the national debate.

The project was presented by deputy Carlos Mogollón, who stressed that cities should promote spaces for production and entrepreneurship: “Let’s do justice”, he said.

Mogollón explained that this will be a law to open the opportunity “for us to continue doing justice in the territories and to end with the merchandising of housings”.

Likewise, parliamentarian Rigel Sergent stressed that this initiative is linked to other rights such as education, arts, health and culture.

As a whole, it is an instrument for collective rights, as a principle to develop an effective housing policy.

In addition, he added that for that must be guaranteed the right to the city, and this law supports the Gran Misión Vivienda Venezuela (Great Mission Housing Venezuela – GMVV).

Earlier, the AN approved in the first discussion the Bill for the prevention and eradication of sexual abuse of children and adolescents.
