Alba media chiefs condemn Duque’s repression against Colombian people

The public media presidents and directors of the countries that make up the Bolivarian Alliance of the Peoples of Our Americas (ALBA), condemn the repression of the Colombian government’s security forces against the people.

During a telematic meeting, the heads of media affirmed that the events taking place in Colombia violate the right to life, peaceful protest and freedom of expression.

Faced with the censorship and misrepresentation, imposed by the Colombian media, those responsible for public media in ALBA countries pledged to disclose the truth, and to advocate for the cessation of violence, police and military repression.

The media presidents and directors of ALBA met via telematics on May 31, 2021, with the purpose of strengthening the block communicationally through communication 3.0, and address the challenges of communication in times of pandemic.
